What usually makes El Matador Beach interesting, compared to other SoCal beaches, is the ever fascinating rock formations. Besides captivating looks that they create, while visited by day beachgoers, they are also enticing subjects, besides the Milky Way itself, when it comes down to astrophotography. And, it may be an integral part of narratives that what caught the eyes of a photographer in the first place. Here I was capturing a set of rock formations seen through an arch of another, which, in my eyes, created another dimension of space with the backdrop of our galaxy risen over the horizon blurring the sky and the ocean.
