Once the sunset glow cast on Mt. Ritter disappeared, twilight descended. And soon Earth’s shadow was cast in the east of the snow clad mountain. And the reflection of this lovely bluish and purplish twilight wedge in the water was just beyond what my words could describe. While the west face of the mountain was still illuminating in afterglow, I was struck by this overwhelming sense of belonging. Yes, I belonged here. This little corner of the planet called Earth. And once the shadow completely faded into outer space, night fell.
