JMT DAY 17 - EVOLUTION LAKE AT SUNRISE
Evolution Lake at sunrise
Once done capturing the valley view at sunrise, I hurriedly went over to the spot where I had already set up my second camera. Evolution Lake was waking up fast and Mt. Spencer (12,421 ft) towering over the lake and the ridge that enveloped the elongated lake grew tall.
Behind Mt. Spencer, Mt. Fiske (13,503 feet), over a thousand feet taller than Spencer, sneakishly jutted up as if it was playing peek-a-boo and cast itself with orange glow.
Then, this small patch of clouds appeared out of thin air and hovered over the ridge. It soon turned orange and then red. Then, as if the flames were extinguished, the colors faded and it turned grey. Soon, it was completely gone.
As if it never happened.
